The recent floods in the Grafton area have caused significant damage to the Clarence River’s banks. Some locals are frustrated by this damage, and are looking to pin the blame on someone. Unfortunately for us, the scapegoat is the waterski and wakeboard community.
We need to realise that this is a sensitive issue, and act accordingly on the water. We need to be smart & self regulate our behaviour so that the river will be left alone for everyone to use. Idle past, pull away from, or avoid residential river banks, don’t do big power turns, and avoid putting out unnecessary rollers.
A little bit of extra thought now can save our river forever.
But above all, remember to stay safe, and have fun on the water!
